CV (Unit 24)

Career Diagram (Unit 24)

Plan
My main plan once I have completed my courses at Long Road Sixth Form is to apply for an apprenticeship at a company like BBC, ITV or Channel 4 as places like these will help me extend my knowledge and skills in production to a more professional level. If I got an apprenticeship then it would open more doors once it had finished or I may be able to continue to pursue a career at the company if I was offered one.
My contingency plan is to create a freelance website containing all my previous projects on and also work on new short films and hopefully find clients to work with and work for. To gain more recognition I would submit these to short film festivals.
In 5 years I would like to have a professional job in production at a well known company or working freelance.

Personal Resources Audit (Unit 24)

Looking at the resources I already have and the ones I need, I have the majority of resources which are essential, the others resources are just luxuries which would help produce better quality films. With the fact that I don't have a high quality Camera, this isn't too much of a problem as I have a Go Pro which is good for creating scenic and sporty videos which I have an interest in doing. However I would need more of the Adobe Software, especially Premiere Pro to edit my videos.

Strengths
Resources I have that will be helpful is my Go Pro, Go Pro Pole/Tripod, MacBook to edit videos and a car to travel to locations to film. The resources which I don't have but will be helpful with my career are a microphone/sound recorder, high quality camera (DSLR), lighting and Adobe Software. I don't have direct access to these other than funding them myself.

Weaknesses
Resources which would be helpful on my career are a microphone/sound recorder, high quality camera (DSLR), lighting and Adobe Software. However I do not have access to these unless I fund them myself, the issue with this is that they are very expensive and would need a lot of money to fund these, which may take time before I am able to get them.
Another resource I would need is more contacts which at the current moment I haven't got many and haven't really got much access to getting more.

Areas for development
Something I need most importantly is contacts, this is to help get myself known in the industry. I will try to acquire them by using websites such a theunitlist.com, by using this is can apply for production roles and potentially meet new people which will hopefully help pursue my career more professionally.

Evaluate Own Qualities (Unit 24)

2) My strengths are Sports and Media. Having spent years playing sports at a high/competitive level (for example, playing football for Cambridge United Girls and Rugby for county). I have an expert knowledge of a wide range of sports and the rules within different games. I mostly enjoy going to the gym to keep fit and producing short films using a Go Pro.

3) I would like to develop my confidence more in the sense of speaking aloud in a group of people, as well as boost my creativity levels to create bigger and better projects. I would also like to increase my knowledge and understanding of Adobe softwares and be able to use more of them to a more expert level.
